The tournament’s top favorite gave the Dutchman, who is ranked 39th in the ATP rankings, no chance, winning after just one hour and 17 minutes.

Dropping just one serve, Djokovic prevailed in two straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.

In the quarterfinals in Dubai, the world leader will meet the winner of the tournament, Hubert Gurkach (11 ATP) and Pavlo Kotov (138 ATP).
