“At first we were told that there would be delays, 20 minutes, then an hour. We are told that there is confusion in the queues. I hear two train workers say, “Where is that boss?” and a minute later bang,” says one of the passengers with obvious injuries on his face.

“There was a woman with a child with us. There was a fire next to us. We found a hole and we managed to get out of there,” another passenger said in the GOR cell. “We heard a ‘pop’, the car started to spin, and then turned on its side, and we got out,” he explained.

“It was a nightmarish 10 seconds on fire. It was not visible around because of the smoke, there was a panic, ”added the first passenger.

“Let’s go anywhere”

Impressive is the testimony of a passenger who was in the rear cars of the train and heard the phrase on the radio: “Let’s go wherever we get off.”

In particular, he told reporters the following: “When we heard the driver talking to the ticket inspector and saying, ‘Let’s go where he’s going,’ you probably had a preconceived notion that something was wrong. I heard it on the radio, “let’s go anywhere.” That’s all. We were delayed due to heavy traffic on the railway tracks, we were told that we would be delayed for 15 minutes, because this is a single-track traffic. “Everyone was carefree, some were asleep. Suddenly there was a bang, some suitcase fell, and then the push became stronger and stronger. After 5 seconds, you realize that something very, very bad has happened. Our car was not badly damaged, several windows were broken. There was oil on the floor. People fell. Some wagons caught fire. There was no access to the first wagons. Fifteen minutes passed after the crash, and there was no one from the police and fire department. It’s me, a girl, some passengers came to the rescue and got hurt. They were locked in the wagons. I don’t know what happened to the cars, after 1.5 and 2 hours the fire brigade arrived and put out everything. There were only 5 of us to help, ”said one of the helping passengers.

“It was like an earthquake, I dropped everyone I could off the train.”

A young passenger in the 6th car of the train said he was trying to get as many people out of the train as possible.

“I was in the sixth carriage. We felt it like an earthquake. Only one woman hit my wagon. I tried to pull out as much as possible, it was a 6 month old girl who luckily survived, I pulled out as much as I could. I’m excited. Car 2, which is a canteen, was hit. I couldn’t go any further because the wreckage was on fire.”

“We stopped, we would have been an hour late because there was another train ahead. I just thought he had crashed, ”the woman said in an interview with local media. “There was a rumble (…) the train was half full, almost full,” said another passenger.
