Within the next ten days, a general meeting of the Art Theater “Karolos Koun” is expected to convene to elect a new board of directors of the theater after the resignation of two of its members: actress and director of the Drama School Manias Papadimitriou and actor and director Costis Capelon.

An impasse arose when the students of the theater school demanded the removal of G. Lignadis.

Director of the Artistic Theater Marianna Kalparis – Theater and School since 2014 are different divisions of the same organization with their own management – said that in August last year, students of the school asked to film the drama. school professor Yiannis Lygnadis on statements made by him in connection with the trial of his brother Dimitris Lygnadis. According to “K”, their request was submitted by the leadership of the theater school to the board of trustees, but was not accepted, since the complaints about his removal were not related to his work at the theater school, where he served for the last 20 years. However, since November, when Mr. Lignadis’ classes began, and until recently, students from all grades of the school either did not attend classes or did not participate in them at all. The resulting impasse has led to the aforementioned resignations and the matter will be reviewed by the new Board of Directors.
