The United States is planning a provocation in Ukraine with the use of poisonous chemicals, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday, Reuters reports.
The ministry quoted former US ambassador to Russia John Sullivan as saying that “Russian troops are planning to use chemical weapons in the area of the special military operation.”
“We regard this information as the intention of the United States and its accomplices to carry out a provocation in Ukraine with the use of poisonous chemicals,” Igor Kirillov, head of the Armed Forces of Anti-Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection of the Russian Armed Forces, said during the briefing.
He specified that Russia “will identify and punish the real culprits.”
Kyrylov claims that the preparation for the challenge is “in full swing”, writes TASS.
The head of the radiation, chemical and biological protection forces of the Russian Armed Forces also reported that the chemicals were delivered by train to Kramatorsk and unloaded under the supervision of SBU and Armed Forces personnel.
Kyrylov also reported that “a total of 16 sealed metal boxes” were delivered with a chemical substance that “causes acute psychosis, disorientation, hallucinations, memory disorders” (photo source Dreamstime).
