The Tesla CEO was ousted from the top spot by Bernard Arnault, the patron of French luxury brand LVMH, in December last year, and Musk has remained in second place for more than two months since then.

However, as of Monday, Bloomberg reports that the rise in Tesla stock has returned Musk to the top spot on the real-time billionaires list.

After markets closed Monday, Musk was worth about $187.1 billion, slightly ahead of Arnaud’s $185.3 billion, according to Bloomberg.

If Tesla shares fell sharply last year against the background of the troubled acquisition of Twitter and the broader decline in the technology market, in 2023 the electric car manufacturer’s shares began to rise again.

Musk is the richest man in the world, but he also holds the record for the most fortune anyone has ever lost in history.

At the end of last year, Musk became the first person to lose $200 billion in wealth – after his fortune fell from $340 billion in November 2021 to $137 billion in December 2022 (source news.ro)
