Lawyer Katerina Mavroides, who represented him, resigned. Babi Anagnostopoulos before the United Court of Appeals, in the Abomination Trial freshwater crime.
The trial started on Monday and interrupted at the request of the lawyer on March 28.
On the grounds that she had not yet received the digital materials included in the case file, the defense then requested that the trial be adjourned, a motion that was not accepted by the court, which decided to stay the trial, giving over a month to prepare the defendant’s defense.
In a written statement circulated by Ms. Mavroides, she states: “As you know, I took over the defense of Charalambos Anagnostopoulos in the second instance before the Mixed Court of Appeal of Athens. However, professional and personal reasons do not allow me to continue to act as defense counsel in this case, and I announce my resignation.”
