On February 13, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 occurred in the Gorzh district at a depth of 16 kilometers. The next day, a new earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 occurred in the same area, at a depth of 6.3 kilometers.
Seismologists announced on Tuesday that 810 seismic events have been detected in the area since the February 13 earthquake, but the number and magnitude have been decreasing in recent days.
The area of Oltenia where these earthquakes occurred is known for weak-moderate seismic activity with very rare events above magnitude 5.
