
Iga Svyatek categorically dominated the match with Lyudmila Samsonova and advanced to the quarterfinals of the “WTA 1000” tournament in Dubai.

Svyatek defeated the Russian, who is ranked 13th in the WTA ranking, after an hour and 16 minutes of play, the score 6-1, 6-0.
Samsonova suffered a dramatic defeat by Belinda Bencic on February 12 in the final of the WTA 500 competition in Abu Dhabi. In the tie-break of the second set, Lyudmila missed three match points and lost in the decider: 1-6, 7-6(8), 6-4.
