An officer of the General Anti-Corruption Directorate was detained by the DNA on charges of receiving a 10,000 euro bribe from a man who helped him and his wife get a job in the emergency service in Dambovitsa, respectively, in the district hospital.
On Wednesday, DNA announced the 24-hour detention of Rada Andronake, the chief police commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Directorate General (DGA), for two crimes related to influence peddling.
Allegations made by DNA:
- Between April and May 2021, Radu Andronache demanded an amount of 10,000 euros from a person (a witness), of which he actually received an amount of 2,000 euros, in order to exercise the alleged influence he allegedly had. over several decision-makers from Bucharest, in the Dambovitsa County Council and in the Tirgovitsa Ambulance District Hospital, in order to recruit this person and subsequently complete the post of Paramedic in the Dambovitsa County Ambulance Service.
- In a similar context, between April and May 2021 and June 2022, Radu Andronake would demand from the same witness the sum of 10,000 euros, of which he would actually receive 8,000 euros in three installments, to order to “solve” the permanent employment of the witness’s wife on the position of paramedic in the Tirgovishte district emergency hospital.
According to DNA, both “promises” of the DGA officer would be fulfilled if two people were hired in the ambulance, respectively in the district hospital in Tirgovishte.
