On Tuesday, Vladimir Putin canceled the decree of May 7, 2012 on the course of the Russian Federation’s foreign policy, one of the points of which was the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict while respecting the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova. . Experts from Chisinau claim that by canceling this decree, Putin demonstrates the fact that he uses any tool to intimidate the Republic of Moldova, reports radiomoldova.md.

More precisely, the corresponding decree, which referred to the priority directions of Moscow’s foreign policy, also provided for the determination of ways to solve the Transnistrian problem based on respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and neutral status of the Republic of Moldova, with the determination of a special status for the Transnistrian region.

Member of the Parliament of Moldova Radu Marian from the Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) commented on his Facebook page that Vladimir Putin’s decree from Tuesday does not change anything in the process of settling the conflict, since the Kremlin authorities would not even now respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova .

He clarified that the Chisinau authorities will continue to make efforts for the reintegration of the Republic of Moldova through diplomatic and political means.

The invalidity of this decision, which guaranteed the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova in the context of the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, signed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, shows that the Kremlin authorities use any tools to encroach on the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, a representative of the Institute for the Policy of European Reforms (IPRE) Mihai Mogaldea.

“The authorities of Chisinau cannot sit down at the negotiating table with the Russian Federation while Vladimir Putin is waging an unjust war in Ukraine,” Mihai Mogaldia claims.

Also on Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi warned that Russia’s plan is to replace the pro-Western leadership of the Republic of Moldova, and for this Moscow would like to keep the Chisinau airport under control in order to be able to transport soldiers and equipment to open a new front in Ukraine from Transnistria.
