
On Monday morning (20.02) a coordinated police operation took place in the gypsy settlement “Agia Sophia” in Diavat, Thessaloniki, as well as in the settlement “Ipsomata”.
Police officers of the Property Crime Division of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate, Delta and Oreokastro Security Divisions, assisted by members of the Crime Prevention and Suppression Division of the same Directorate, DI.AS team. The Thessaloniki Direct Action Directorate, as well as the Thessaloniki Traffic, Police Operations and Aliens Directorate checked a total of 84 people, 62 cars and 2 houses.
In total, five people were detained during the checks for various offenses (theft, violation of the Law on Weapons, violation of the Law on Aliens).
Withdrawn:
- 4 hunting rifles, two with scratched numbers and two stolen from the areas of Kilkis and Magnesia, as evidenced by the relevant reports of theft,
- 249 rounds and
- 355 packs of cigarettes, the legality of which is being investigated.
At the same time, 8 violations of the Code were revealed, while the prescribed administrative fines were imposed and six cars were detained.
