The film hierarchy at the Romanian box office has changed after the superhero movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania debuted at the top spot, displacing the comedy Ramon starring Pavel Bartosz.

The adventure film “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania” directed by Peyton Reed and starring Paul Rudd, Michelle Pfeiffer, Evangeline Lilly, Jonathan Majors, debuted at the top of the Romanian box office for the weekend with 1.3 million lei, according to News.ro

Superhero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) reunite to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Joined by Hope’s parents, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), and Scott’s daughter, Cassie Lang (Katherine Newton), the family explores the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures in an adventure that will test the limits possible

According to cinemagia.ro, the Romanian comedy “Ramon” with Pavel Bartos fell in half in its third weekend after its release after it was seen by 19,221 viewers and earned 499,169 lei.

“Amazing Maurice” climbed to third place in its third weekend after its debut. Animation with Emilia Clarke, Hugh Laurie was watched by 11,731 viewers in cinemas and collected 229,892 lei.

Avatar still on top after 10 weeks

Another top debut – the action movie “Assassin’s Club/Assassin’s Club” starring Noomi Rapace, Sam Neill, Daniela Melchior, Henry Golding, Jimmy Jean-Louis entered the rating in the fourth position. The film was watched by 8,386 people in cinemas and brought in an income of 222,676 lei.

The cartoon “The Adventures of Pil” rose to fifth place in the second weekend after the premiere. The film collected 11,253 viewers and 222,610 lei.

Rounding out the Romanian ranking is the blockbuster Avatar: The Last Airbender out of six, which in its tenth weekend since its premiere brought in 216,487 lei, followed by Magic Mike: The Last Dance with 180,000 lei, Titanic ( 174 048 lei), “SOS: Forced Landing” (108,346) and “Shoes: The Last Wish” (102,178).
