An attempt to deceive citizens is a message received by citizens on a mobile phone with a misleading link to civil protectionas the Ministry of Climate Crises and Civil Protection points out in a statement.

The Ministry of Climate Crises and Civil Protection and the General Secretariat of Civil Protection specify that they are not related to the message in question, which, according to them, apparently belongs to the category of smishing messages (SMS phishing).

In particular, over the past few hours there have been reports of bulk text messages (SMS) being sent to mobile phones that list the name CIVILPROTEC as the sender and contain misleading content about the alleged temporary suspension of the recipient’s debit card.

“We have already taken all relevant actions with the competent authorities and we draw the attention of citizens who may receive the message in question, immediately delete it and in no case follow the link contained in it,” the Ministry of Climate noted. Crisis and civil protection in a statement.
