On Friday, foresters caught several people stealing wood from the forest in Valja-Mare-Pravec commune, after which a conflict arose between forestry workers and thieves. The thieves began to threaten the foresters with a chainsaw and an ax, and during the confrontation, one of the workers of the forest farm received cuts on his hand, jurnaluldeargeș writes.
“On February 17 of this year, through SNUAU 112, a message was received to the police officers of the Rukar village police department that a conflict had arisen between five employees of the forest farm and several persons. The police went to the scene, and from the checks carried out so far, it was found that while on duty at the Plăişor point in the Dragoslavele area, five forestry workers found three adults and a minor transporting wood, with two hitches, without title documents. The mentioned individuals became aggressive and threatened forestry workers with a chainsaw and a cutting object,” IPJ Argeş reports.
Footage of the aggression was published on Facebook.
The police identified the involved persons and drew up the necessary documents, which was reported to the prosecutor’s office of the Kampulun court.
1.5 m3 of wood was also removed, the origin of which could not be proven.
On Saturday, the Kampulung Magistrate’s Office announced that two men had been pre-arrested and one was under house arrest.
