Bayern Munich, the wrong step in the Bundesliga

Julian Nagelsmann’s side lost at Borussia Park in M’Gladbach on Saturday night at the end of a game in which they were outnumbered from the 8th minute.

Dayot Upamecano saw red in the 8th minute of the game and Lars Stindl opened the scoring for the home team in just the 13th minute.

It was 1-1 at half-time, after Eric-Choupo Moting restored the tie after Alphonso Davies’ pass.

Julian Nagelsmann introduced Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane at half-time, but the hosts still took the lead.

Jonas Hofmann from Alassane Plea made the score 2:1 (55th minute), and Frenchman Marcus Thuram doubled the home team’s advantage in the 84th minute.

The champion of Germany hoped to avoid defeat until the last, in the third minute of extra time Matis Tel managed to reduce the difference.

It ended with a score of 3:2 in favor of Borussia M’Gladbach, who rose to 8th place in the Bundesliga.

The one-time champion may lose first place if Union Berlin wins against Schalke 04.
