Kvitova, Ostapenko, Azarenka and Kenin were eliminated at the WTA in Doha

After the loss of Petra Kvitova (13 WTA) to Coco Gauf (6 WTA), the score 6-3, 7-6, Jelena Ostapenko, Victoria Azarenka and Sofia Kenin left the competition after matches with Jessica Pegula, Belinda Bencic and Veronika Kudermetova.

Iga Svyatek and Maria Sakkari, emotionless victories

World No. 1 Iga Sviatek easily advanced to the quarterfinals of the WTA tournament in Doha after defeating Danielle Collins 6-0, 6-1 in straight sets.

In the quarterfinals, the Pole will meet Belinda Bencic.

Maria Sakkari advanced to the next round, where she will face Caroline Garcia, after defeating Russia’s Kateryna Aleksandrova in two easy sets, 6-3, 6-2.

The Qatar TotalEnergies Open (from Doha) takes place from February 13 to 18 on hard, is part of the WTA 500 category, has a total prize pool of $780,637, and the title champion is Iga Sviatek (title won in 2022).
