A series of questions for Manos Daskalakis to state his position on the motives he attributes to his ex-wife for taking the lives of each of their children.her lawyer presented Roulas PispirigouAlexis Kougias, a witness who appeared at the second hearing today.
Mister. Kougias in a court decision with which the president disagreed, he questioned the father of three to clarify what motive he “sees” in each murder. The questions concerned a statement by a witness at a previous hearing that the 34-year-old defendant took Georgina’s life “to get back at me.”
And also the phrase that he said today that “the attempt on the child was a lawsuit, and the murder was revenge.” Therefore, the defense counsel asked the witness if this also applied to the two other deaths that preceded Georgina’s death. Issues in the cases of Malena and Iris, since their death is a separate case from the one being considered by the Department of Defense, were resolved by the court in the case of the attempted murder of Georgina.
The lawyer’s goal is to demonstrate his position that the motive attributed to his client is wrong, and also to weaken the testimony of Manos Daskalakis, who is appearing in court as a political plaintiff. For nearly five hours, counsel bombarded the witness with questions, at times making Mr. Daskalakis uncomfortable. At such moments, the defender asked the witness: “Do you continue to support the prosecution?” In fact, Mr. Kougias clearly told the court that “I want to emphasize the unreliability of the witness.”
Alexis Kougias: Are you of the opinion that revenge was the cause of death? Are you only talking about Georgina?
Manos Daskalakis: I only said that about Georgina. This is an assumption. As if mourning will bring us closer.
Al. Kogias: You didn’t say that before. You testified that he threatened to take your children. How do you come to terms with the fact that he takes your children, that he kills them?
M. Daskalakis: I never saw the children again. It’s the same ending.
Al. Kougias: What were her motives when she killed Maria Eleni when you were lovers?
M. Daskalakis: The doctors told us that Malena should stay in Athens and I should go to work in Patras.
Al. Kougias: So her motivation for Maria Eleni was to go to Athens?
M. Daskalakis: So that he doesn’t stay in Athens.
Al. Kougias: So you were alone in Patras and what did you do?
M. Daskalakis: Maybe because I’ll be alone and do whatever I want. This was preceded by an extramarital affair that I had in 2018.
Al. Kugias Tin Iris, why?
M. Daskalakis We were separated, we were killed.
Al. Kogias: Why?
M. Daskalakis: To bring me back to her.
Al. Cougias: You told the story that he killed Georgina because she was a burden?
M. Daskalakis: I said that she said to me when we were at our house in Patras: “Who would want me to be with a paralyzed child.”
Al. Kougias: This phrase was said before the child came to Athens, to the hospital?
M. Daskalakis: Yes, earlier.
Al. Kogias: So her motive is to kill her child so she doesn’t have to suffer?
M. Daskalakis: Around January 13-15, we discussed with her how I would leave the house, and everything started from that.
Al. Kogias: So it’s not like “who needs me?”
M. Daskalakis: Quite by accident, the problems started three days later… I sat and thought about all this much later, from October 2022.
The lawyer used the messages that the spouses exchanged during the disputed period, from which during the defense it is clear that the witness sought to preserve their relationship. The witness denied that he had any such intention, citing photographs of them together, and although Georgina was now paraplegic, he said he was faking it at the time.
Al. Kogias: How many years will this hypocrisy last?
M. Daskalakis: Whatever it takes to be close to my child… I stayed for the benefit of my child. Every time I told her to leave, she reacted with threats and said that I would never see my children again.
The Court decided to ensure the convenience of using this material in its entirety, as it is included in the case file in the form of a CD.
The testimony of Manos Daskalakis continues next Friday.
