Another name that will be added to this year’s concert card is everyone’s favorite Madrugada which will appear on Sunday, June 25 V water area, in its context Athens 2023 release.
The beloved band from Norway, with such a large and fanatical audience in our country, returns to festivals after many years, rightfully taking its place in the headliners.
Since their founding in 1993, Madrugada have managed to create their own, individual sound thanks to the imposing and unique artist Sievert Hoyem, as well as the solid identity of the group, which is sonically and visually so different that it transcends generations, genres and trends. Their six recordings, the live album Live at Tralfamadore (2005) and countless singles and EPs have won numerous awards and have been certified either gold or platinum.
After an unexpected hiatus in 2008, the three remaining founding members of the Norwegian band returned in 2019 to celebrate their prolific debut Industrial Silence (1999) with a triumphant tour followed by big sell-out shows in their home country. abroad, showing that they are in another important period of creativity. This was confirmed in 2021 with the release of the inspirational record “Chimes at Midnight”, which NRK, Norway’s most important media and entertainment agency, described as “redemptive catharsis after years of silence“.
Now Madrugada is preparing for a new round of performances around the world, which will inevitably lead them to Greece, with the audience of which they have developed a unique relationship of mutual admiration.
