It was impossible not to dedicate Saint Valentine today’s Google Doodle, on Valentine’s Day.

The search engine is decorated with an animation of two raindrops connecting in a heart.

“Rain or sunshine, will you be mine?” writes Google.

In the description of the doodle, Google briefly describes how Valentine’s Day came to be celebrated.

As already mentioned, during the Middle Ages in European countries such as England and France, February 14 was considered the beginning of the mating season of birds. So, as is commonly believed, the celebration of St. Valentine’s Day began, which has become popular all over the world since the 17th century.
