After watching four videos from her point murderous attack on Alkis Campanos On the seventh day, the trial of 12 accused in the fan-motivated murder that took place early in the morning on February 1, 2022 in the Harilau region continued in the Mixed Jury in Thessaloniki.

The parents of the deceased student were also present today and saw the video footage of their son’s murder. Indeed, Mr. father of unfortunate 19 year old he turned his head and couldn’t watch the video from that fateful night.

At the same time, a police witness from the Thessaloniki Department of Crimes Against Life testified in court about the movements and positions of both the defendants and their vehicles during the commission of the violent crime.

What the videos show

It was about the materials that appear in the case file and come from a mini-market, a jewelry workshop and from two balconies of neighboring apartment buildings (the first two are from surveillance cameras, the rest are from mobile phones). The court demanded to show them, having accepted the corresponding petition of the defense side.

The controversial videos, depending on where they were filmed, show, among other things, the arrival and departure of three vehicles carrying the defendants.

They also show the final moments of the attack (which lasted 66 seconds in total, according to the witness) and some of the 12 involved in running towards the cars from the steps of the Ghazi street apartment building where the crime took place.

What did the cop show

The police officer was asked to place the accused one by one, in time and space, in the bloody event, reiterating that it was a “gross attack”.

The police investigation revealed, as the police officer testified, that the attack was carried out as “retaliation” for an earlier incident with fans in which one of the defendants was involved as a victim.

With regard to the investigations and the DNA found, the same witness, among other things, referred to a third car driven by the defendant who was the last to be arrested, stating that although “the car was washed inside and out”, the genetic material was from its passenger.

“Don’t hit me anymore”

Today’s session was rife with denials between the civil suit and the defense, so the court had to take a short break to calm down.

In fact, Alka’s father at some point reacted sharply to the content of the questions that the witness – a policeman – was asked by the lawyer of one of the 12 defendants.

“Don’t hit me again, don’t hit me again,” said Aristides Campanos and left the hall of the Mixed Jury Court in Thessaloniki, accompanied by his wife, to the applause of the public.

The policeman’s testimony is expected to be continued at tomorrow’s scheduled meeting.
