The match lasted an hour and 36 minutes and ended with Sinner winning 7-6, 6-3.
The first set ended in a tiebreak where Sinner took advantage of three missed Cressey serves to win 7-3.
In the semifinals, Maxime Cressy (51 ATP) knocked out the main favorite of the tournament, Dane Holger Roon.
This is Darren Cahill’s protégé’s fourth indoor/hard title after finals won in Sofia (2020, 2021) and Antwerp (2021).
The Open Sud de France 2023 (ATP Montpellier) was held from 6 to 12 February 2023 on indoor hard and is part of the ATP 250 category with a total prize fund of €500,000. The title champion of the tournament (2022) is Oleksandr Bublyk.
