The Italian Yannick Sinner easily won the final of the ATP tournament in Montpellier, defeating the American Maxime Cressi in two sets.

Yannick Sinner won the ATP tournament in Montpellier

The match lasted an hour and 36 minutes and ended with Sinner winning 7-6, 6-3.

The first set ended in a tiebreak where Sinner took advantage of three missed Cressey serves to win 7-3.

In the semifinals, Maxime Cressy (51 ATP) knocked out the main favorite of the tournament, Dane Holger Roon.

This is Darren Cahill’s protégé’s fourth indoor/hard title after finals won in Sofia (2020, 2021) and Antwerp (2021).

The Open Sud de France 2023 (ATP Montpellier) was held from 6 to 12 February 2023 on indoor hard and is part of the ATP 250 category with a total prize fund of €500,000. The title champion of the tournament (2022) is Oleksandr Bublyk.
