34-year-old Valentin Kretsu won a gold medal on Friday at the Luge Nations Cup held in Winterberg, Germany.

20 athletes took part in the competition.

“Experience and determination spoke for themselves, and Valentin Kretsu perfectly mastered the sled and showed the best time on the downhill, ahead of athletes from strong nations in this sports field.

So, the gold for Romania was brought by Valentin Krets, the German Florian Muller took the 2nd place, and the American Jonathan Eric Gustafson took the place,” reports FR Bob and the sled.

Valentin Kretsu, registered in CSO Sinaia, has been practicing this sport for 23 years.

“This year marks the 23rd anniversary of my first sledding. When I am asked how long I worked for a result, whether after a medal at a national championship, or an international medal, or after qualifying for the Olympic Games, it is difficult for me to say the exact amount of time.

And that’s because when I started playing this sport, I wanted to get better.

I believe that I worked for this result from the first minute when I got on the sled on the Sinai slope” – Valentin Kretsu.
