Following Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s statements regarding Moscow’s plan to destroy the Republic of Moldova, the administration of the President of Chisinau sent the responsible institutions “to use all the informational assistance of partners to predict and prevent any attempts to undermine the state.”

• “President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu is in constant contact with the leaders of states and governments of European countries and with other external partners, including President Zelenskyi, with whom she constantly exchanges opinions and information about the situation in the region. Our responsible institutions are working to ensure the security of the country and use all the informational assistance of partners to predict and prevent any attempts to undermine our state,” said the message of the President of the Republic of Moldova, according to deschide.md.

And the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Niku Popescu, responded by saying that the Republic of Moldova “is guided by the priority of strengthening stability and, in this sense, fights disinformation, advocates the support of a free press, prioritizes the eradication of corruption, invests in energy and economic sustainability and modernizes the security sector and defense”.

• “Over the past year, we have witnessed unsuccessful attempts to destabilize the government and the course towards European integration, including through paid protests.
• All these attempts have failed because our citizens firmly declare that they want to live in democracy, peace and prosperity as a future member state of the European Union,” Popescu said.

It will be recalled that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said on Thursday in Brussels that Ukraine intercepted the plan of the Russian special services to destroy the Republic of Moldova, the Associated Press reports.

Zelenskyi made these statements in Brussels, at the European Council, saying that he informed Maja Sandu about Moscow’s alleged plan to destroy the Republic of Moldova:

• “I intercepted the plan of the Russian special services to destroy the Republic of Moldova.
• The document shows who, when and how will destroy the democracy of the Republic of Moldova and take control of the Republic of Moldova.
• When I received the document and understood where it came from, I immediately warned the Republic of Moldova.
• But we do not know whether Moscow really gave the order to carry out this plan, but we intercepted it, recognized it and understood that they were trying to implement a plan similar to Ukraine’s.”
