Correspondent of the Pro TV channel in Dambovitsa county, Marius Buga (42 years old), one of the channel’s oldest employees, was detained for having sex with a minor, according to judicial sources cited by Agerpres. In connection with these accusations, the 16-year-old journalist was heard on Tuesday.

“A criminal proceeding has been registered at the Prosecutor’s Office of the Tirgovishte District Court, in which further criminal prosecution has been ordered against a male person for committing a sexual act with a minor (…). In relation to the man, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention for a period of 24 hours,” the district police inspectorate of Dambovytsi reported.

According to some judicial sources, it is the journalist Marius Buga, a correspondent of Pro TV in Dambovica and one of the oldest employees of the television, who was heard on Tuesday in connection with these accusations made by a 16-year-old teenager.

Adevărul wrote that the 16-year-old boy was questioned by the Tirgovishte police in another case, but during the hearing he told the police that he had a sexual relationship with the journalist Marius Buga.

Television representatives said that they became aware of the investigation against journalist Marius Buga.

Pro TV responded on Tuesday with a short press release: “I was surprised to learn about the investigation against employee Marius Buga. At the company level, we strongly condemn any immoral actions. We cannot comment on this situation, but we are convinced that the authorities are taking all measures to clarify it. As soon as we receive all the necessary information, we will take the necessary steps internally. The protection of minors is extremely important for each of us!”
