President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi is making his first visit to Great Britain on Wednesday since Russia invaded Ukraine almost a year ago, the Associated Press and Reuters reported.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi will be received by the Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak and will speak in the British Parliament, the London government reports.

In March, he addressed the British Parliament via video link, which was the first speech by a foreign leader in the House of Commons.

The United Kingdom is one of the most important military supporters of Ukraine.

London has sent Kyiv military aid – arms and equipment – worth more than two billion pounds ($2.5 billion).

Ukrainian military trained on NATO aircraft

Sunak said that Great Britain will train Ukrainian pilots on “NATO standard fighter jets”.

Kyiv is asking its allies to send fighter jets after Berlin authorized the deployment of a Leopard 2 tank and the US promised to send Abrams tanks.

London responded that it was “not practical” to provide it with British aircraft.

This is Zelensky’s second foreign visit since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

In December, he visited the United States, when he was received by his American colleague Joe Biden and spoke in Congress. (news.ro)
