USR President Katalin Drula said on Saturday that the A6 Craiova-Lugozh motorway is a “project destroyed” by Transport Minister Sorin Grindianu.

“On June 1, 2021, during my mandate, a tender for the design of the A6 Craiova-Lugozh highway was launched. The first, concrete and necessary step taken after the revolution for this major infrastructure project that will connect the south of Romania with Europe. A few months later, the tender was nearing completion and the design contract was almost ready to be signed. From that moment the disaster began. Instead of signing the contract, Grindean illegally decided (as the court would later find) to cancel the contract. tender Occasion? Face, the design period was too long: three years. Grindean announced another tender for two years. He also divided the project into 4 lots (the 2021 tender was for one lot). Since then, 1 year has passed and the contract has not been signed. He added that the tender launched by Sorin Grindeanu is not yet ready, “appeals after appeals and revaluations are going on.”

“The 2021 auction is also not canceled because the courts found the cancellation illegal. So we have two auctions in parallel, no signed contract and a lost year. This is when the contract could have been signed a year ago for the entire project, and today we would be in full project activity. It seems like a nightmare. And it is. The project, left open, killed PSD in transport,” added the USR leader.
