The United States imposed sanctions on the board of Iranian drone maker Paravar Pars on Friday, the US Treasury Department said, saying Iranian drones were being used by Russia to attack critical infrastructure in Ukraine, Reuters reported.
The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has designated eight senior Paravar Pars executives, the department said in a statement.
The drone maker was previously sanctioned by the US and the European Union for making drones for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
“Iranian companies continue to produce drones for the IRGC and the Iranian military. More broadly, Iran is providing UAVs for combat operations to Russia to target critical infrastructure in Ukraine,” said Brian Nelson, the Treasury Department’s top sanctions official.
