The Epirus Police decided to temporarily stop the movement of trucks weighing more than 3.5 tons and buses from 08:00 in the morning on a large part of the Egnatia road due to heavy snowfall. This is the section from Ioannina junction to Panagia junction after the Malakasi toll. Vehicles must be driven with anti-skid chains.

From 05:00 a heavy snowfall began in all the highlands of Epirus, Konitsa, Zagori, Metsovo and Tsumerka. By decision of the mayor of Metsovo, all schools in the municipality will remain closed today.

According to APE-MPE, there are 20 snowplows and salt pumps operating throughout the road network.
