
The US Navy nuclear aircraft carrier USS GEORGE W. BUSH has docked at Faliriko Ormos for several hours and will remain until noon Tuesday, February 7th.
The Piraeus Central Port Authority has taken a decision prohibiting maritime traffic around the aircraft carrier until 14:00 Tuesday.
In detail, the relevant message of the Ministry of Shipping states the following:
“The Piraeus Central Port Authority announces from 08:00 03 February 2023 to 14:00 07 February 2023 a ban on the movement and anchoring of boats, sea pleasure craft, as well as any other activity within a distance of thousands of meters from point f: 37o 55′ 09.3” N, l: 023o 39′ 47” E, namely around the ship that will be anchored at that point.
An exception to this prohibition are ships – ships that are necessary to provide and supply the above ship. Violators, regardless of simultaneous civil and criminal liability under the current legislation, are also subject to the sanctions of Article 157 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation. 187/73 (Government Gazette 261 A’/73), if applicable.”
