Smuggled pills in boxes of clothes

chain traces illegal drug export in France and England they are in the last day auditors of the department for working with goods SDOP. After cooperating with courier companies, they identified packages containing tens of thousands of pharmaceuticals and recipients who were likely people of Arab origin in France.

So far found two missions with more than 20,000 anticonvulsant tablets hidden in the boxes with the declared item of clothing. In Greece, the drugs in question contain the active ingredient pregabalin, are taken without a doctor’s prescription, and in France and England are classified as category C drugs. It is alleged that a French citizen, who was noticed regularly visiting pharmacies in the pool, plays a central role in this case. He is wanted by the traffic police.

The thriller began on January 10, when a courier company informed commodity department officials about a box of 6,500 pills without the necessary shipping documents. The box was checked and found to contain thousands of anti-seizure pills from two different brands.

The destination of antiepileptic drugs was France, where they are available only by prescription and cost almost 4 times more.

The sender was a foreigner of Arab origin, as was the recipient of the drugs in France. The tablets were not in their boxes, on the one hand, to save space (ie, to fit more tabs in one box), and on the other hand, to make it difficult to track the cargo if it was found.

And the second box

Two weeks later, a second box containing 16,500 more anti-epileptic pills was found wrapped in clothing. And this mission was intended for France. Based on the trade names listed on the tabs, the researchers identified the pharmaceutical companies that produce the pills (one in Poland and one in Greece), the drug stores that distribute them, and finally the pharmacies where they were purchased. It is characteristic that if, on average, pharmacies sell 10 drugs per month, then pharmacies were identified that dispensed up to 500 drugs over the same period.

In Greece, the drugs in question are available without a prescription at a price of 21 euros per box. In France and England, they require a prescription and are available for 78 euros. Investigations to date have revealed that the ringleader of the illegal exporter network is a foreigner, most likely French. Together with his accomplices, they carry out “broom” operations in the pharmacies of the pool, from where they purchase antiepileptic drugs. Then they take them abroad, where they are consumed as drugs, making huge profits.
