When asked how appropriate the possibility of combining local and parliamentary elections is, PNL spokesman Jonutz Stroe explained that from the point of view of the liberals there are arguments for promoting such a project, but emphasized that it must be discussed within the framework of the government coalition and agreed by the three formations comprising to its composition.

Regarding the older decision of the Constitutional Court of Romania showing that it would be unconstitutional, Ionuc Stroe explained: “The challenge of unconstitutionality at the time points to a specific case, namely a project that at the time contributed to the merger of the two options. Now we are also likely to see that those in the legal field, the constitutionalists of the parties, will try to avoid this issue being referred to the Court at that time.’
