Philistoras Destebasidis remained in the investigation room for about ten minutes, pleading guilty to a serious charge that makes him the protagonist of a criminal group engaged in fraudulent businessmen.

Apologizing to a 50 year old temporarily detained on trialreportedly said he denied the charges against him.

The defendant, who claims in a public statement that his involvement is due to para-state methods out of revanchism, also reportedly said he feared for his life.

Mr. Destebasidis is likely to be summoned again by the investigator for additional apologies, as the case file that has been filed against him so far concerns only the part of the case that is related to the alleged activities of the criminal organization and the crime of fraud. So when it is completed, with the completion of the remaining elements of the investigation, the person considered the main defendant in the case will be asked to state his own version of what the authorities will attribute to him.

The defendant’s position, presented by Mr. Konstantinos Gogos, is that the case file is vague, contains many gaps and unanswered questions.
