The cable car and gondola, which climbs from 1,400 to 2,000 altitude in the Bucheji massif, where the Sinaia ski area is located, were launched late Saturday morning due to wet snow and very heavy snow accumulations at the upper stations. With three feet of snow on the mountain but reduced visibility, ski area administrators say Saturday is “an advanced day” as far as winter sports are concerned.

Boarding of tourists on the Carp gondola lift, which rises from a height of 1,400 to a height of 200 in Bucheja, as well as on section 2 of the Sinai cable car, which also leads to the resort’s ski area, began a few minutes before 10:00. , the administrators announced the ski area.

Two units were started later due to snow deposition and very heavy snow accumulation from upper stations.

The Gondola and cable car going up from Sinaia Resort to Cota 1400 started the program at 8:00 AM.

“ALL slopes in the alpine gap are open. A layer of snow over 1 meter. Poor visibility conditions. Today is the day of advanced enthusiasts. From here, from the keyboard, let’s be jealous,” the administrators of the ski area wrote on Facebook.

Heavy snow fell in the mountainous area of the Prahova district, so on Friday evening the roads were closed several times to ensure the intervention of snow removal machines.

On Saturday, all resort streets are closed to traffic in winter conditions, and parking spaces are limited in parking lots due to Trojans.
