“There used to be 90 pieces, now there are 10. The budget went to other things (…). Dogs have started to appear again in Bucharest in large numbers (…) because they are no longer caught (…), there are no more places in the shelters,” Ciprian Cicu said on Friday night on Digi 24, according to from Agerpres.

He noted that the land where dogs killed a woman in the Lakul Moriy district was not fenced off, as it is in a flood zone and construction permits cannot be issued in such perimeters. “Someone appropriated someone (…); there, the so-called demarcation is allowed only through connection,” Chuku explained.

According to him, there are many access roads in the area, and there are not enough local policemen to protect them.

“We will install cameras, they were installed earlier but they were removed. (…) Dogs also cleaned that land. This is not the first time that it is full of dogs. Previously, ASPA (…) acted differently (…), they had patrols (…). The thesis is that the embalming service was destroyed, the money was no longer spent on catching, but on other things,” said Ciprian Chuku.

Ciprian Chuku: “I have my doubts that Nikusor Dan is the man to lead this very big, very difficult, very complex city”

The mayor noted that he had not spoken to Mayor-General Nikusor Dan after dogs killed a woman in the Lakul Moriy area.

“I’ve lost a lot of confidence in the Bucharest City Hall’s ability to manage certain public services, so I’m trying to do as much as possible,” Chucu said.

He added that he was very supportive of Nikushor Dan. “From the moment he became mayor general, I said, well, every mayor should have a minimum of 2 years to show what he can do. I told him that I wanted to cooperate, to have a close relationship (…). I supported him (…), I spoke before the party (…), which for a long time asked me to give up his support,” Cyprian Chuku said.

In his opinion, Nikusor Dan’s ideals were incompatible with his own, that they needed to work together, but they had failed to do so, although he assured him of the unconditional support of the General Counselors.

“Even if we have the same aspirations, the lack of leadership opportunities makes me doubt whether he is the person to lead this very big, very difficult, very complex city,” noted Ciprian Chuku.

In another, he stated that it seems to him that it is not serious to run for the capital city hall, because he has yet to “establish himself” in the 6th sector.
