Mirel Radoi made his debut on the bench for Al-Tayyah in a 1-2 home loss to Marius Šumudike’s former club Al-Shabaab in the Saudi Arabia League 18 Round of 18.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 9th minute through Algerian Amir Sayoud, but Al Shabab hit back thanks to Brazilian forward Carlos Carvalho, who scored twice in the 18th and 38th minutes.

Earlier in the week, Mirel Redoi signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with Al Tai at a salary of $1.2 million per season.

The ex-Romania coach’s team is in 9th place in the Saudi Arabian Championship, having collected 18 points after 15 games.
