“If it turns out that this is fucked up …”: the conversations of “Maximos Sarafis” and the role of a 60-year-old old man

Mystery shrouds the part he played in his cause “Maximo Sarafi” A 60-year-old man who, although there were signs of involvement in fraud, is not among the defendants. It appears from official court documents in the case that the Security Service’s investigation, which led to the arrest of a once-protected witness in Novartis case, originally aimed at a 60-year-old man. The privacy stripping process even started in September 2022 with his own phone.

In the subsequent period, the police established his connection with “Maximo Sarafi”, who until that moment had not been in their field of vision. He created a company on behalf of which he tried to get a loan of 15 million euros through Sarafi. The latter had to act as an intermediary for a fee in order to repay the amount of a loan from a non-existent company. Zahrat in Abu Dhabi, which he allegedly represented. In addition, the 60-year-old man brokered Maximos Sarafis to allegedly provide a loan to the hotel company through Zahrat.

Burnt hotel

This is the owner of the hotel on Syngrou Avenue, which was destroyed by fire in 2020. A case in which the owners themselves were convicted as guilty. The latter transferred about 100,000 euros to Sarafi without taking the loan money. In April 2022, they filed a fraud lawsuit.

“Sarafis” had a frequent telephone connection with a 78-year-old woman whom he referred to as “The Face” and, according to sources, she was a psychic.

“While the recorded conversations indicated that the victims were prone to suspicious activity, the investigation was unable to identify specific criminal acts,” official court documents in the case say. “Maximos Sarafis” frequently spoke on the phone to the 78-year-old woman, whom he referred to as “The Face” and to whom the 50-year-old man expressed his concerns. According to some reports, this is a medium. In one of their messages, a 50-year-old witness in the Novartis case allegedly admits fraud to The Face, as he is heard telling her: “If it turns out that Dubai is a moron, then dick …”.

His “revanchist targeting” since 2018 due to his role in the Novartis case is attributed to Philistor Destebasidis his arrest. In a statement from GADA, he claims that “Corrupt police officers have phoned (!) my trading clients that they are alleged victims of a scam! Some were “stung”, some were not, although it is implied that the leader of the ND also played a role in the matter.

ghost company

As already known, Sarafis is accused of defrauding businessmen with two of his accomplices, posing as representatives of a non-existent financial company based in Abu Dhabi in Greece. They charged fees for preparing and submitting loan application files to the Emirates from the non-existent Sahrat, defrauding their victim clients.

During the first stage of the investigation, it turned out that 800,000 euros were seized from 7 businessmen. A criminal case has been opened against them, and their apologies are scheduled for Saturday tomorrow. Maximos Sarafi’s lawyer Konstantinos Gogos, in a written statement, stated that “my client, as he himself states, is the victim of a well-planned provocation by persons with a certain political identity and relationship with persons in power.” . This is also the hallmark of the defensive tactic he must follow.
