
The front approached the Eastern Aegean Sea, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace on Thursday night storms which previously affected several parts of the country.
According to the latest forecast data from the National Observatory of Athens/meteo.gr, heavy rains and storms will take place on Friday night both in the above areas and on the islands of the northeast Aegean Sea, and in the morning hours of Friday they will gradually shift towards the Dodecanese.
Snowfall will be in the mountainous and semi-mountainous parts of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
Detailed forecast
On Friday, January 27, 2023, the first rains and sporadic storms will take place in Western Greece, Thrace, the island parts of the Aegean Sea and Crete. In fact, in the morning hours on the islands of the eastern Aegean, the Dodecanese and the Eastern Cyclades, the phenomena will be quite intense.
In the afternoon and in the afternoon in other regions of the country there will be rain or thunderstorms, while in the above regions the phenomena will weaken. From the evening on the islands of Iptane, Peloponnese, Crete and Cyclades, it will again rain and storm. Snow will fall in the mountainous areas of the mainland and temporarily in the semi-mountainous regions of Northern Greece.

- in Western Macedonia from -6 to 5 degrees,
- in the rest of Northern Greece from -1 to 9,
- in Epirus from 2 to 12 degrees,
- in Thessaly from -1 to 11,
- on other continents from 4 to 14 degrees,
- in the Ionian Islands from 7 to 13 degrees,
- on the islands of the North Aegean from 7 to 13,
- in other island parts of the Aegean Sea and in Crete from 9 to 17 degrees Celsius.
A very strong southeasterly wind of 7-8 on the Beaufort scale will blow in the Dodecanese, weakening from noon. In the northern part of the Aegean there will be winds of various directions with a force of 3-5 Beaufort, and in the rest of the Aegean there will be winds from the west to the south-west of the direction of 4-6 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea, south-westerly winds up to 5 on the Beaufort scale will blow.
Weather in Athens and Thessaloniki
In Attica, rain and possible sporadic thunderstorms are expected in the morning and afternoon hours, after which the weather will improve. Light snowfall may occur in the upper parts of Parnita. The wind will blow in a variable direction with a force of 3-4 on the Beaufort scale. The air temperature will fluctuate from 7 to 13 degrees.
In Thessaloniki, a temporary increase in cloudiness is expected with possible intermittent rain in the lowlands and temporary snowfall in the mountains. The wind will blow predominantly from the north with a force of up to 3 on the Beaufort scale. The temperature will fluctuate from 3 to 9 degrees.
