As a result of “my dastardly and revanchist persecution since 2018 by certain political figures in power whose political and personal mores were exposed in the investigation of the Novartis scandal in Greece,” Philistor Destepbasidis describes his name’s involvement in the fraud case in a statement to GADA.

His full statement:

“For those who scoff at my involvement in the case of fraud in the process of financing / lending to a business by a company in the UAE. and for those who know me and respect me, I must state the following:

1. I have been in the “market” for 25 years, either as a high-level executive in multinational companies or as a manager of investment and communication companies, and my course is distinguished by its consistency and effectiveness. No one dared question my personal ethics and professional integrity.
2. My current criminal involvement is the result of my dastardly and revanchist persecution since 2018 by some political figures in power whose political and personal ethics have been exposed in the investigation of the Novartis scandal in Greece. They, like a political mafia, publicly threatened me that they would “scratch” and “put me in jail”.
3. “The time has come!” Having organized all these semi-state mechanisms, catalyzing Laws, Institutions and the Constitution, they recruited “colleagues”, “accomplices” and “agents” to lure me into a legal adventure to … redeem in public opinion, discredit me, lock me up in prison. No evidence, no real cross-references of companies and processes, but only guesswork, they discovered the crime, the perpetrator and the victims. Corrupt cops phoned (!) my sales customers that they were allegedly being scammed! Some “stung”, some didn’t.
4. In short, my arrest is the work of a New Republic parastatal corporation. I know that the road to my justification is long and difficult. I declare, however, that I am NOT afraid, I will NOT be blackmailed and I will NOT kill myself, as they wish, but I will appeal to International Organizations, exposing what, as retribution, was planned against me.
5. And I ask New Democracy and in particular Adonis-Spyridon Georgiadis: does he know Alexandros Maravelakis??? And if so, what does he have to do with him and what is his role in my criminal provocation?
6. I know – and I have other similar questions for more New Democracy people – and I’ll talk to Justice. Until they kill me…!
