During the “Red Light, Green Light” game known from the “Squid Game” series, some participants felt ill while others tried to complete the effort at -3 degrees Celsius. One player suffered a shoulder injury when he accidentally crashed into a wall, while others were being treated for minor ailments. The producers flatly denied to Variety that the contestants were escorted out of the premises.

Netflix, along with co-producers Studio Lambert and The Garden, downplayed the appalling conditions described by players.
“We care about the health and safety of participants and staff behind the cameras. Although it was very cold on the set – and the contestants were ready for it – any claims of serious injuries are not true, ”the platform said in a statement quoted by the Times.

Another participant stated that each player was given two thermal underwear, two socks, a shirt, shoes and a tracksuit. Under the clothes they wore special protective vests.

In June, Netflix announced that it was recruiting English-speaking participants from around the world for its “biggest reality competition” based on the hit Korean series. There are 456 players in the competition competing for a prize of $4.56 million.

The scripted series Squid Game, which remains the most watched Netflix program of all time, was renewed for a second season in June.
