
Two people were killed and five others were injured in a knife attack on a regional train in northern Germany, German newspaper Bild reported on Wednesday, citing a representative of the federal police, Reuters reports.
A spokesman for the federal police in the state of Schleswig-Holstein confirmed that there had been a knife attack and that there were victims, but could not give an exact number.
The police managed to detain the suspect, reports Bild.
Police are investigating Brockstedt station, rail company Deutsche Bahn said on Twitter, adding that some flights between Hamburg and Kiel had been cancelled.
According to Bild, the train was moving between two cities when a passenger started attacking people with a knife.
