The Civil Protection Service of the Zakynthos Regional Unit “appeals to all residents of Zakynthos, if and when severe weather events occur in places, such as heavy rains and stormy winds, to avoid unnecessary movements, especially in areas that pose a risk of landslides and localized flood events.”

• Secure items that could be blown away by wind or heavy rain and could cause damage or injury.
• Fix any billboards they may have placed.
• Secure the doors and windows of your homes or workplaces. Be careful in your movements.
• Residents of all disadvantaged areas who have experienced similar problems in the past are asked to be especially careful in case of landslides.
• All residents, especially in rural areas, are asked to take extra care of the accumulation of transported materials and objects that can cause flooding problems in ditches, streams, bridges and streams.
