Early on Wednesday morning, a chase began on Egnatia Odos, which began in Igoumenitsa and ended in Metsovo.
According to ERT, police patrols and ordinary vehicles from Thesprotia and Ioannina were mobilized immediately when the car that had entered the highway upside down was moving at breakneck speed.
The chase started from Nea Seleucia in Igoumenitsa when a car with two passengers did not stop on a signal from the police for control.
The car entered Egnatia and was moving in the direction of Thessaloniki, but in the opposite direction to the traffic, until the Drosochori toll road. At all toll stations, he broke bars to escape. At Drosokhory, he entered the normal flow of traffic and after a few kilometers he began to have serious problems with his tires, probably due to speeding. The car left at the Metsovo intersection, where the police finally stopped it.
According to the first information, a large amount – more than 50 kg – of drugs was loaded into the car, while one passenger, a Greek, is a minor, he is only 16 years old, and the second, an Albanian by origin, is young.
The car is taken to the Thesprotia Police Department, where the drugs will be counted, and the two arrested are taken to the Thesprotia Police Department, which is investigating the case.
