NIMC, Pammakaristos Hospital and two private clinics are recruiting Ministry of Health in an attempt to deal with the acute problem of ranting that occurs while on duty at the large pool hospitals. In these four hospitals, patients referred to emergency departments will be transferred Evangelismos, Laiko, Attikon and Gennimatas hospitalsafter completing their medical and laboratory examination and deciding that they need hospitalization and because they cannot be hospitalized due to corpulence.

The day before yesterday, the NIMC hospital, which will receive patients from Evangelism, joined the new system. In the next ten days, Pammakaristos will join it, as well as two private clinics that will receive patients from the Laiko, Attikon and Gennimatas hospitals.

Until yesterday, the Ministry of Health did not disclose which private clinics will help them. SNB emergency services, since the agreement has not yet been closed, however – if not foreseen – these will be clinics that have partnered with the ministry throughout the pandemic to treat patients. According to the ministry, the agreement with private clinics will cover 30 hospital beds each. The patient will not bear the costs of hospitalization in private clinics, as they will be reimbursed by EOPYY based on the closed joint hospital.

The NIMTS hospital has already joined the new system (it will receive patients from Evangelismos), followed by Pammakaristos and two private clinics.

At the same time, a working group was set up in the Ministry of Health, under the leadership of the Secretary General of the Health Service, Yiannis Kotsiopulos, to monitor hospital calls, and the hospitals were tasked with updating the Philolaos digital system. database EKAV – KEPS (sanitary and operational center) during their shift and up to two hours after it, according to nursing traffic (empty beds, hospitalizations, ward arrangement, etc.). It is noted that hospitals, although they are obliged to update the system, have not yet done so. Minister of Health Thanos Pliuris visited Gennimatas and the EKAV Operations Center during the Saturday-Sunday shift, while Mr. Kotsiopulos was on the Attikon shift.

With these interventions, the Ministry of Health is trying to solve the problem of ranzo, which has become much worse recently due to the outbreak of viruses. Patients on the ranch, constantly growing in large hospitals at the end of the shift, in recent weeks are forced to wait 24 hours until a free hospital bed is found in the ward. The picture described by the doctors of the hospital “Gennimatas” is indicative, according to which the attendance of TEP exceeds 1200 patients, and “those admitted to the hospital find a bed in two days.”
