
The Severe Weather Notice, issued on January 19, is being updated by the National Weather Service (EMY) with the latest forecast.
Today, heavy rains and storms are forecast for the Ionian Islands, Epirus, western Sterea and the northwestern Peloponnese until noon, before subsiding in the evening. Also phenomena will appear in western and central Macedonia and in the evening in the northern parts of Thessaly.
Snowfall will occur in the continental mountains, which in western Macedonia and Epirus (from 800 meters and above) will be thick in places.
Tomorrow Tuesday (24.01) heavy rains and storms are predicted in central Macedonia until noon and in Thessaly (mostly in the east) and Sporades until evening.
Snowfall will occur in the central and northern continental highlands.
According to the latest forecast, from Wednesday evening (01.25) to Friday (01.27) further deterioration of the weather is expected with heavy rains and storms at first in the west, in the center and in the south, which will gradually spread to the northeast. Snow will fall in the central and northern mountains, as well as in the northern semi-mountains, and the wind will increase on the seas and the temperature will drop.
