Police in Hunedoara County announced on Monday that the man had been caught, initially detained for 24 hours, and on Monday a Petrosani court issued a preventive arrest warrant on his behalf.
According to a press release from the Hunedoara police, on Saturday evening, around 7:40 p.m., a 24-year-old woman was approached by an unknown man on the street on December 1, 1918 in Petroshan. At knifepoint, the man forcibly took her to Stefan Octavian Yosif Street, where he raped her.
According to the police, the aggressor is a 40-year-old man from Petroshani municipality, who was detained for 24 hours, and on Monday he was taken into custody for 30 days for rape.
Judicial sources told HotNews.ro that a man approached the young woman as she was leaving the store, threatened to kill her and took her to the street where she was raped.
