A huge queue formed outside the Carp Gondola in Sinai on Monday, where some tourists had to wait for hours to go up the mountain.
Photos and videos of huge queues were shared on social networks.
At 13:30, Gondola Sinaia announced on Facebook that the facilities are operating with excess capacity and no longer sell cards for high-altitude facilities – Gondola Carp, Telecabina section 2, Telescaunul Soarelui, Telescaunul Dorului and Teleschi Călugărul.
“It’s an extremely beautiful day, the sun is shining, but there are a lot of people. Even the roads are blocked. It’s extremely crowded in Sinai, one of the busiest Mondays in the last six years, I’ve never seen anything like this before,” Maria Florisica, administrator of the cable car in Sinai, told News.ro.
According to him, approximately 4,000 people climbed the mountain in Sinai on Monday.
