According to a post on the social platform published by its owner Elon Musk, a more expensive subscription to Twitter will not include advertising, according to Reuters.

The billionaire also said that ads are “too frequent and too large” on Twitter and that steps will be taken in the coming weeks to address those issues.

Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Twitter earns nearly 90 percent of its revenue from digital advertising sales, and Musk recently attributed the “huge drop in revenue” to rights groups that pressured major companies to stop advertising on Twitter.

In early December, Musk announced that Twitter’s basic blue tick will have half as many ads, and by 2023 it will offer a higher ad-free tier.
