​Sunday brought big surprises to the Australian Open 2023 women’s singles draw: Iga Sviatek (main favorite) and Koko Gauf (7) were eliminated in the 1/8 finals.

In the last match of the day in Melbourne, Victoria Azarenka (24th seed) beat China’s Lin Zhu (87 WTA), score 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
