According to the RIA news agency, the meeting was attended by ex-president Dmytro Medvedev, Secretary of the Security Council Mykola Patrushev, Ministers of Foreign Affairs Serhiy Lavrov and Minister of Defense Serhiy Shoigu, as well as other high-ranking persons.

“During the meeting, there was an exchange of views regarding the progress of the military special operation,” RIA quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov as saying, using the official Russian name for the invasion.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday that Moscow will do everything possible to “wake up to reality” of the European Union and NATO, which it accuses of wanting to weaken and defeat Russia.

His comments came on the same day that former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warned NATO that Russia’s defeat in Ukraine could lead to nuclear war.
