Claudio Petrila, heavily wanted by Augsburg

Augsburg’s situation in the Bundesliga was not good at all. After 15 stages, they sit 14th in the table with just 15 points and the leaders are clearly looking to strengthen the squad to avoid relegation worries.

Although she was initially interested in Andrii Cordea, FCSB boss Gigi Becali did not agree with the sum offered by the Germans.

As such, they turned to Claudio Petril, a 22-year-old from CFR Cluj who is considered one of the best young players in the Super League.

Negotiations between the two clubs progressed, and Augsburg made an offer of 3 million euros. However, CFR demands 5 million euros and 20% of the future transfer, writes Prosport.

However, owner Nelutu Varga would be willing to sell the youth international for around €4 million.

On Monday at 20:00, Dan Petrescu’s team will debut in the Super League away from Farul Constanta.
